DAY TWENTY-EIGHT

MORNING VERSE:
“This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us
and sent his Son as a sacri!ce to take away our sins. Dear
friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love
each other.” (1 John 4:10-11 NLT)

EVENING VERSE:
“This is he who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not by
the water only but by the water and the blood.” (1 John 5:6)

MEDITATION

To represent the God of love without love is
hypocrisy. The evidence that we are truly learning to eat from the
table of the Lord is a heart that is compelled to love his neighbor.
You must let the river flow! If you receive God’s unconditional
love yet do not express it in word and deed to those around you,
you will become a stagnant marsh. Fresh water flowing in, yet
never flowing out. May it never be so! To become love is the
highest calling because it is to become like our Master. You have
been eating from the table of the Lord so that you, too, may
endure your hour of betrayal and injustice. Forgive, as the Lord
has forgiven you. Love, as the Lord has loved you.
