DAY THREE

MORNING VERSE:

“Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men.” (Romans 5:18)

EVENING VERSE:

“Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?” (Romans 6:3)

MEDITATION

Baptism into death. Your baptism was more than a public ceremony. It was a union. Your sinfulness, brokenness and depravity buried forever in the grave of Jesus. You rejoice in the cross because your sins were forgiven. But you must also learn to rejoice in the grave, for there your sinfulness was buried. Once and for all, Jesus took your old “operating system” of sinfulness and buried it in the grave. When he rose from the grave he gave you a new operating system called righteousness. The laws of God written on your heart and mind. Instead of trying so hard to overcome your sinfulness, trust that it has been buried once and for all through Jesus’ death.
