Day Twenty-Nine
DAY TWENTY-NINE
MORNING VERSE:
“We know that our old self was crucified with him in order
that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we
would no longer be enslaved to sin.” (Romans 6:6)
EVENING VERSE:
“For one who has died has been set free from sin.” (Romans
6:7)
MEDITATION
God provides many opportunities for us to walk out
what we say we believe. As you embrace your crucifixion with
the Lord, you will likely face injustice. You will likely be sinned
against in a way that tests your faith in this manner. Though the
pain is real, you must bring it before the Father just like Jesus,
and entrust yourself to the cup he is having you drink. You will
drink his cup of suffering and you will enter into the glory of his
resurrection. The key here is to remember that those sinning
against you, are doing so because they have forgotten, even for a
moment, who they are. Love is patient. So the first step of love is
to offer patience. Love is kind. The second step of love is to offer
kindness, even in their sin, knowing that God’s kindness will lead
men to repentance. Ask God to allow you to see others just as he
does. Thank him for showing you kindness and mercy in the
midst of your sin and rebellion and ask him for grace to offer the same.
