Day Eleven

DAY ELEVEN

MORNING VERSE:

“...and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility.” (Ephesians 2:16)

EVENING VERSE:

“And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” (Ephesians 5:2)

MEDITATION

Oh the beauty and life that is hidden in the Word of God! Such brief phrases carry such weight and glory. Like a decanter to a nice bottle of wine, so is remembrance, meditation and thanksgiving to the Word of God. Slowing down to remember, to savor and enjoy God’s work in saving you, will empower the Holy Spirit to bring out the nuance and color hidden beyond the black and white of the page. “As Christ loved us.” How did he love you? What manner of love is this? Who has ever loved you so perfectly as the Lord? The entire exhortation rests upon this phrase, “As Christ.” The sum of Christian duty can be summed up in these two words…“as Christ.” Let everything you do, be as Christ. Let it be a mirror of his life. Of his love. Of his humility and grace.
