Day Twelve
DAY TWELVE
MORNING VERSE:
“And all the people answered, ‘His blood be on us and on our children!” Then he released for them Barabbas, and having scourged Jesus, delivered him to be crucified.’” (Matthew 27:25-26)
EVENING VERSE:
“And they stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on his head and put a reed in his right hand. And kneeling before him, they mocked him, saying, ‘Hail, King of the Jews!’” (Matthew 27:28-29)
MEDITATION
I was numb to the cross and the love of God so I asked him to awaken me to his love. To move this knowledge into an experiential reality. From the head to the heart. I heard the Father say, “Knowing what I did for you will have little power to change your life unless it is coupled with a deep understanding of why I did it.” He was inviting me to revisit what I had always known and to ask him this simple question…“Why? Why did you do it? Why did you endure the mocking? The shame? The scourging?” This question has led me on a journey into the heart of God. Into the passion of Christ. As you walk through his crucifixion, find him every step of the way and ask him, “Why?”.
